Natacha

Natacha is a Istambulbased painter whose whole world revolves around flowers, not as symbols or abstractions, but as living, breathing subjects she chases through the city's markets, parks, and windowsills. Born and raised in Brooklyn, Natacha developed an obsession with the way light bends through a petal at golden hour, or how a wilting rose holds more beauty in its decay than at full bloom.

Her studio in Bushwick is perpetually cluttered with fresh bouquets, dried stems, and dozens of oil-stained sketchbooks filled with studies made on the spot, at the Union Square farmers' market, in the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, or simply crouched beside a forgotten wildflower pushing through a sidewalk crack. She paints what she sees, not what she imagines: every brushstroke is grounded in a real moment, a real flower, a real light.

Natacha’s canvases are large, bold, and unapologetically emotional, rich impasto textures that make you feel like you could reach in and touch the petals. Critics have called her work a love letter to the overlooked, and she wouldn't disagree. For Natacha, a flower isn't decoration; it's a whole universe, and she's just trying to do it justice.

Currently working on a new series exploring seasonal blooms found across Istambul’s five boroughs.
